LAW FIRM SIGNS FOR LANDMARK SPINNINGFIELDS SCHEME

The real estate team of a Manchester-headquartered law firm has struck a deal to take space at one of Spinningfields' landmark office schemes.

JMW Real Estate has signed a nine-year lease at 3 Hardman Street where it will take 14,000 sq ft of space. This is in addition to JMW Solicitors' existing office space at 1 Byrom Place.

The new office space, which will house 120 partners, fee earners and staff and has room to accommodate future expansion, is located on the fourth floor of 3 Hardman Street.

Since the start of the new financial year in May 2017, the real estate team has grown by 70 staff which was the catalyst for the move.

The fit-out of the new office space is being undertaken by ADT Workplace working with real estate commercial partner Thomas Pearson. The real estate team will move to the new office accommodation by the end of 2017.

Joy Kingsley, senior partner at JMW, said: "Over the last five years our real estate team, consisting of our commercial, residential and finance teams, has increased by 200 per cent.

"As a firm we have grown by 74 per cent in the last five years so needed additional office space close to our existing location at 1 Byrom Place, Spinningfields. It made sense to house our real estate team together on one floor, allowing them to work together for clients utilising both our commercial and residential services.

"JMW Real Estate is instructed by Brookhouse Group, Dransfield Properties, Whitecroft, Blueoak, NatWest, Lowry Capital, Aldermore Bank, Precise Mortgages and Savills. It has been a period of immense growth for our real estate team and as a firm we are delighted to invest in this new office space for them."

The 3 Hardman Street building comprises 350,000 sq ft of space in the heart of the Spinningfields commercial district.

Paul Walker, managing partner at JMW, said: "We are pleased to have acquired new office space for the JMW Real Estate at 3 Hardman Street in Spinningfields. The new office space illustrates our continued growth at JMW and we are pleased to have invested in the future of our growing real estate team.

"This move means there is further room for expansion for all our other departments who remain at our office at 1 Byrom Place in Spinningfields. We are looking forward to seeing the new office space once the fit-out has taken place at 3 Hardman Street."

JMW was advised on the lease by Andrew Timms of Edwards & Co and the landlord Hardman Trustee No 1 and No 2 Ltd was represented by Savills.
